Vietnam’s leather shoe export to USA reduced heavily

The export value of leather shoes in Vietnam to United States declined 13% to 4.1 billion USA in 2009.

 It said the slowdown in export to America is blamed for the leather shoes reduction, compared to the export in 2008 it reduced 400 million US dollars to 1.1 billion US dollars in 2009. The export to EU members fell to 2.1 billion US dollars, 100 million US dollars less than previous year.

 Now Vietnam has 800 leather shoe companies that could process 780 million pairs of leather shoes annually. They are concentrated on the areas of Ho Chi Ming City, Dong Nai province, Haiphong and Hanoi. Shoemaking machinery and technology in these companies stand at medium and above medium level.
